Derelict buildings were razed to make way for a public park along the entire south bank of Broad Creek as it flows through Laurel. Named after the late civic leader, Johnny Janosik, the park completion permanently preserved this valuable asset for public use and enjoyment. The graceful tree-lined park faces the Records Pond spillway and fishing areas, extending toward Central Avenue. Plans are to complete the trails and greenway all the way to Roger C. Fisher Park, ensuring public enjoyment of the natural beauty of Broad Creek for generations to come.
